The Problem of Moral Evil (Part 1)

This is the first of four episodes where KJ and Jay tackle the Problem of Moral Evil.

Moral evil is generally referred to as something like 'bad things that occur because of the actions of moral agents (i.e. human beings).'

If you're not familiar, here's the short version of the problem:

1. If God is all-powerful, he can prevent moral evil.

2. If God is all-knowing, he knows how to prevent moral evil.

3. If God is all-loving, he wants to prevent moral evil.

4. Evil exists.

It doesn't seem like all four statements can all be true at the same time. (4) looks uncontroversial. (1-3) look pretty unpalatable for traditional theists. So what's a theist to do? How does someone reconcile these?

We look at some possible solutions in this four part series.
